United Kingdom businesses reported a continued economic downturn in May as output expectations remained near multi-month lows. The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) output balance fell to -31 from -24 in April. Weak household spending and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East are stalling corporate investment and growth.
