Brookfield Buys Blackstone Spanish Housing for 1.2 Billion
Blackstone sold its Fidere residential portfolio in Spain to Brookfield for 1.2 billion euros on Monday. The deal includes 5,000 housing units across Madrid.
Blackstone Inc., the United States-based private equity giant, has finalized the sale of its entire Fidere residential portfolio to Brookfield Corporation for a gross purchase price of 1.2 billion euros ($1.3 billion). The transaction, confirmed late Monday, represents a significant consolidation in the European real estate market.
According to a regulatory filing by Fidere, the deal was valued at a net 1.05 billion euros. The portfolio includes approximately 5,000 housing units spread across 47 residential buildings, primarily located in Madrid. This divestment marks a major milestone for the property sector in Spain, as the firm noted the scale of the agreement relative to historical market activity.
