Beiersdorf weighs price hikes amid Middle East crisis
Beiersdorf reported a 4.6% organic sales drop in the first quarter. The firm may raise prices later this year if Middle East tensions continue to impact costs.
BEIERSDORF AG is evaluating potential price increases for the second half of 2026 as the company monitors the impact of ongoing instability in the Middle East. Finance chief Astrid Hermann stated on Tuesday that further cost pressures resulting from a prolonged crisis could necessitate adjustments to product pricing.
The conflict has already affected regional performance, with sales growth for the Nivea and Eucerin brands in the Middle East halving during March. Chief Executive Officer Vincent Warnery noted that while the Middle East accounts for approximately 3% of group revenue, the impact was primarily observed in net sales rather than consumer demand.
