Becle Q4 Profit Drops 13 Percent Amid Higher Tax Rates
Tequila maker Becle saw a 13% drop in fourth-quarter profit due to higher taxes and lower sales. Revenue fell as demand weakened across North American markets.
The world's largest tequila producer, BECLE SAB DE CV, reported a 12.8% decline in fourth-quarter net profit, primarily attributed to a heavier tax burden and a contraction in sales. Based in Mexico, the company announced that its net profit for the final three months of 2025 reached 1.35 billion Mexican pesos ($75.0 million). This result fell short of the 1.60 billion pesos anticipated by market analysts.
Total revenue for the period dropped 14.1% year-on-year to 11.08 billion pesos, missing the projected 12.25 billion pesos. The decline was fueled by weakening volumes in North America and the negative impact of a strengthening Mexican peso on foreign earnings. Despite these challenges, the company noted that gross and operating margins showed improvement, even as lower sales volume reduced overall operating leverage.
