Italy could raise annual productivity by over 1 percentage point through rapid AI adoption, Bank of Italy Governor Fabio Panetta said. Under a slow-adoption scenario, AI would contribute just 0.2 percentage points to yearly output growth. For investors, the shift targets Italy's long-standing labor productivity stagnation and requires expanded venture capital and private equity.
