Bank of Canada Deputy Governors Mendes and Kozicki to Depart
The Bank of Canada announced today that deputy governors Rhys Mendes and Sharon Kozicki will leave their posts. An internal search will fill the vacancies.
The Bank of Canada has announced that two of its deputy governors will depart in the coming weeks, leaving the seven-member governing council in Canada short of two members. Rhys Mendes is scheduled to leave his post on April 10 to relocate to Toronto with his family, while Sharon Kozicki will retire on July 15. Mendes was appointed as a deputy governor in 2023, following Kozicki’s appointment in 2021. The central bank confirmed it will initiate an internal recruitment process to fill these leadership positions.
