Aviva CEO urges UK stability as insurance premiums rise
Aviva CEO Amanda Blanc urged UK political stability as quarterly insurance premiums rose 19 percent. Wealth net flows grew 49 percent to 3.3 billion pounds.
AVIVA PLC CEO Amanda Blanc warned that political instability in the United Kingdom is damaging business confidence. The insurer reported a 19% rise in first-quarter general insurance premiums to 3.4 billion pounds ($4.6 billion). Frequent changes in government leadership and strategy create uncertainty that affects major businesses and global economic perception.
Blanc told Reuters that the private sector requires stability to thrive and that consistency is vital for how the British economy is perceived by international investors. She noted that many current policies, including pension reforms, have been well received by companies. However, the threat of leadership challenges and shifting strategies remains a concern for business planning.
