Atlas Arteria Shares Jump on 4.9 Billion Dollar Buyout Bid
Atlas Arteria shares rose over 13 percent today after IFM Global Infrastructure Fund offered to acquire the toll operator for 4.94 billion dollars. The board is reviewing the proposal.
Shares of Atlas Arteria surged more than 13% on Monday, marking the company's strongest performance since June 2022. The rally followed a $4.9 billion buyout proposal from IFM Global Infrastructure Fund, which aims to take full control of the road operator. The fund, operating through its investment vehicle Diamond Infraco 1, offered A$4.75 per share, representing a 9.7% premium over the previous closing price.
Based in Australia, Atlas Arteria saw its stock price climb to A$4.91, even as the broader benchmark index finished the day 0.5% lower. The bidding entity currently maintains a 34.48% stake in the firm and noted that regulatory limits necessitate a formal takeover offer to increase its holding further.
