ASEAN Ministers Urge End to Middle East War for Stability
ASEAN ministers met Friday to urge an end to the Middle East war. They warned that high oil prices and trade disruptions are now hurting regional economies.
Foreign and economic ministers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have issued a collective call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the Middle East. The bloc warned that the escalating crisis is already destabilizing regional economies through increased energy costs and trade disruptions. Several member nations have initiated emergency measures to conserve energy and protect vulnerable sectors such as tourism.
Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro emphasized the gravity of the situation during a press conference following a special meeting on the crisis.
