Argentina Monthly Inflation Forecast to Ease to 2.7 Percent
Argentina's monthly inflation likely slowed to 2.7 percent in February. However, the annual rate is expected to rise to 32.7 percent despite government efforts.
Argentina's monthly inflation rate is expected to have eased in February, according to a Reuters poll of 20 economists. The median estimate suggests a Consumer Price Index (CPI) increase of 2.7%, down from 2.9% in January. This deceleration, the first since June, is linked to a seasonal cooling in prices for food and services following the Southern Hemisphere summer peak. However, the annual trend remains elevated, with year-on-year inflation expected to reach 32.7%, surpassing the 32.4% reported in January and complicating President Javier Milei's objective of eliminating inflation by 2026.
