洞察:
The Arctic LNG 2 project, which is 60 percent owned by Novatek PJSC , discharged its first Natural Gas cargo of 2026 at the Beihai LNG terminal in the Guangxi region of CN CNCNon January 26, 2026. The shipment was delivered by the Buran gas carrier, which had been loaded on December 25, 2025, at a Saam floating storage unit located near Murmansk in RU RURU. This arrival marks the continuation of limited operations for the facility as it navigates comprehensive sanctions imposed by the United States in connection with the conflict in Ukraine.
While the project was originally designed for a target output of 19.8 million metric tons per year, it has faced significant operational constraints. Throughout 2025, Arctic LNG 2 delivered a total of 1.3 million metric tons across 23 cargoes, all of which were sent to the Beihai LNG terminal. Currently, Beihai LNG remains the sole importer of cargoes from the project. The facility initially began production in December 2023, with deliveries to end-users commencing later in August 2024.
