Anthropic to Grant European Banks Access to Mythos AI
Anthropic is preparing to provide European and UK banks with access to its Mythos AI model. This follows a rollout to major U.S. financial institutions.
Anthropic is preparing to expand access to its Mythos artificial intelligence model to financial institutions across Europe and the United Kingdom in the coming weeks. The move follows an initial rollout to several large lenders in the United States, as the global banking industry races to adopt generative AI technology.

The expansion is currently undergoing security evaluations to ensure a safe deployment. While some sources suggest European banks could receive access within days, others indicate the process may take several weeks. Anthropic previously provided the model to partners in its Project Glasswing initiative and approximately 40 organizations responsible for critical software infrastructure.
JPMORGAN CHASE & CO is the only banking institution Anthropic has publicly confirmed as having access through the Glasswing program. However, BANK OF AMERICA CORP has also been part of the initiative since its launch and has been testing Mythos internally.
The rapid integration of Mythos has raised concerns among cybersecurity experts and financial regulators. During the International Monetary Fund spring meetings in Washington, officials warned that the model could present significant risks to legacy banking systems. In response to the selective rollout, the head of the central bank in Germany advocated for broader availability to maintain market competition.
"German central bank chief Joachim Nagel called on Tuesday for all institutions to have access to Anthropics artificial intelligence model Mythos to keep the playing field even and to avoid it being misused."
Anthropic has not yet issued a formal comment regarding the timeline for the European expansion.
