Anthropic Commits $200 Billion to Google Cloud Platform

Anthropic committed to spend $200 billion with Google Cloud over five years, a person familiar with the matter said. The commitment represents over 40% of the revenue backlog Alphabet disclosed to investors last week. This partnership secures computing capacity for the AI startup while fueling Alphabet's bid to overtake NVIDIA CORP.

Alphabet shares rose 2% following the report. The deal includes hardware from BROADCOM INC for multiple gigawatts of tensor processing unit (TPU) capacity. This capacity is expected to come online starting in 2027.
