Anglo American to delist from Swiss Exchange in June
The mining giant will leave the SIX Swiss Exchange on June 26 before its $53 billion merger with Teck Resources. It will keep its primary listing in London.
The diversified mining group Anglo American plc confirmed on Monday that it will proceed with delisting from the SIX Swiss Exchange in Switzerland effective June 26. This decision is positioned as a precursor to the completion of its landmark $53 billion merger with Teck Resources Limited. Following the consolidation of the two entities, the group aims to maintain a primary listing in the United Kingdom through the London Stock Exchange. To ensure continued access to global capital, the company also expects to retain secondary listings in South Africa, Canada, and the United States. These secondary listings in Johannesburg, Toronto, and New York are currently pending final approvals from the respective exchanges. The move reflects a broader strategy to optimize the company's corporate structure following one of the largest deals in the mining sector's recent history.
