Anchorage Digital integrates Tron for US investors
Anchorage Digital has added the Tron blockchain to its platform to provide institutional access for US investors. The move follows a recent SEC settlement.
Anchorage Digital, a federally regulated cryptocurrency platform, announced on Thursday that it will integrate the Tron blockchain into its network, significantly expanding institutional access to the ecosystem for investors in the United States. The move represents a major milestone for Justin Sun, the founder of Tron, who recently concluded a $10 million settlement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). While the settlement resolved charges against Sun and his companies, the SEC noted that the parties involved did not admit or deny any wrongdoing. Headquartered in San Francisco, Anchorage Digital is the only federally chartered crypto bank in the country, providing specialized services such as custody and settlement for hedge funds and other institutional players. Nathan McCauley, the co-founder and CEO of Anchorage Digital, emphasized the strategic importance of the new partnership in a formal statement. > By supporting Tron on Anchorage Digitals regulated platform, were helping bring one of cryptos largest ecosystems into an institutional framework. Under the new arrangement, Anchorage clients will be permitted to custody tronix, the native token of the Tron network. This integration is expected to pave the way for broader adoption of the token within the American market, supporting the expansion objectives of the Tron Foundation, which is based in Singapore. Currently, most U.S.-based investors trade Tron tokens through decentralized exchanges to bypass traditional intermediaries. The announcement comes as the political climate surrounding digital assets undergoes significant change. President Donald Trump has campaigned on a platform to establish the country as a global cryptocurrency hub, promising to overhaul existing regulatory frameworks. Sun, who is a key backer of the Trump family’s World Liberty Financial crypto venture, stated that the partnership would facilitate more secure institutional engagement with the blockchain. > Trons partnership with Anchorage will help expand secure institutional access to the blockchain network.
