Alsea Q4 Net Profit Rises 201 Percent to 650.2 Million Pesos
Mexican restaurant operator Alsea reported a net profit of 650.2 million pesos ($36.1 million) for the fourth quarter. Revenue reached 22.02 billion pesos.
Alsea, S.A.B. de C.V.[Symbol:{ "assets":{ "symbol":"ALSEA.MX" } }], the prominent restaurant and cafe operator headquartered in Mexico[Country:{ "assets":{ "country":"MX" } }], has announced a substantial 201% increase in its fourth-quarter net profit. The company reported a net income of 650.2 million Mexican pesos ($36.1 million) for the period, a sharp rise from the 215.9 million pesos earned in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The multinational operator, which holds the rights to major international brands including Domino's Pizza, Inc.[Symbol:{ "assets":{ "symbol":"DPZ" } }] and Starbucks Corporation[Symbol:{ "assets":{ "symbol":"SBUX" } }] across its markets in Latin America and Europe, also reported a marginal increase in total revenue. For the fourth quarter, revenues reached 22.02 billion pesos, compared to 22.01 billion pesos in the same period a year earlier. The financial results, released on Wednesday, indicate a period of stabilized growth and significantly improved bottom-line performance for the group. The figures were calculated based on an exchange rate of 18.0080 Mexican pesos per U.S. dollar as of the end of December. Alsea remains a key player in the regional hospitality and quick-service restaurant industry.
