Judge orders Trump to pay 5.8 million dollars to Carroll

U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan authorized the disbursement of nearly 5.8 million dollars to writer E. Jean Carroll following a 2023 civil verdict. The payment includes the original 5 million dollar award plus interest after the Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal. Trump has filed a new appeal to block the transfer of funds.
